The Da Vinci Code

What is truth. The Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction. I don't understand why the book is taken as historically accurate by any intelligent person. There is so little truth to the claims in the book. The Priory of Sion didn't exist until 1956. It was a fraud that was discredited in the 1990's. Constantine didn't make Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire, he merely legalized the religion. Constantine had no involvement in either deciding which books were in the Bible or the practice of sunday worship. The books of the Bible were nearly all in place before the council of Nicea, which by the way did not vote at all on what books should be included. Sunday worship dated back to the first century church and was alluded to in the writings of the Apostle Paul. There was very little disagreement about which gospels could be trusted. The four gospels that were included in the Bible were written within sixty years of Christ's crucifiction. The gnostic gospels were all written at least fifty years later than John, which was the last of the four gospels written. If you go to leestrobel.com you'll find expert opinions on all these things and more. If you're truly seeking the truth you will find that the Bible is truth. Jesus truly is the son of God and the only way to the Father. John says that all things were created through Him. I've felt His presence. I know He is alive and working through those who place their trust in Him. I've found the truth, I pray anyone who reads this finds Him too.

The Fear Of The Lord

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. What is the fear of the Lord? It's a reverance of God. Being in awe of the all powerful, all knowing God who created the universe. David was a man after God's heart. He feared the Lord and it showed in his actions. It showed in the psalms that he wrote. David repeatedly referred to the greatness of God. He lived in humility before the Lord. Even when he did horrible things, he humbled himself before the Lord and God honored him.
Psalms 111:10 says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That is echoed in Proverbs 1:7 and 9:10. Wisdom comes when we realize who the source of wisdom is. When we put our pride aside and seek answers from the Holy Spirit and from the Word of God. Psalms 25:14 states that God confides in those who fear Him. Fear Him and He'll show you His will.

I Can Feel You

I Can Feel You
verse 1
I can feel Your presence all around
I can feel Your glory coming down
I can feel You in the air I breathe
And like a whisper I can hear You speak
I'm drawing closer to eternity
I can feel You watching over me
chorus
I can feel You, Lord I feel You everywhere
When the storms rage and in the stillness You are there
When I'm feeling lost and all alone
When I feel like I can't go on
Lord I call Your name and just hold on
And I feel You everywhere
bridge
In so many ways You make Your presence known
So many ways Lord Your glory shows
I stand in awe of all You've done for me
Most of all I'm thankful Lord for Your love for me

Fusion

God is working in the youth of northern Minnesota. On January 7 2006, youth from area churches met at Buena Vista Ski Resort. A month earlier, a monthly event named Fusion was kicked off under the leadership of Matt Keller(the youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Bemidji). A time of worship and fellowship unites teens from churches in Bemidji, Blackduck, Tenstrike and Fosston. The event at Buena Vista was advertised on Q107 FM. Free pizza and pop were provided to attenders who payed no admission charge for the meeting itself.
Andy Pomp lead worship with Eric Vantassel joining him on guitar. Matt Keller played the djemba( a hand drum) and gave a message. I pray this is the start of a powerful move of God that changes the lives of many young people in Minnesota.

Another event took place on January 14th. This was the start of a weekly service at Tenstrike Community Church focused on young adults. The service titled Source Point takes place every Saturday night at 6 p.m. The meeting starts with an informal worship service open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Afterward those attending are welcomed to hang out in the Upper Room Youth facilities which include a cafe, pool table, ping pong table and plenty of places to sit and visit.
God is moving in area churches as they work together to further His kingdom.

Take This Area, Lord

Take This Area, Lord
by Frank Fowler
verse 1
I want to be an example of Jesus, I want to be a light to my peers
Lord, make me a force for Your kingdom, I'm gonna spread the gospel without fear
Let the harvest begin, Let the reaping be here
chorus
Take this area Lord, bring revival here
Let these people be reborn, the end is drawing near
The last days are upon us, time is running out
We need to reach out to the lost, that's what Your love is about
verse 2
The people need to know about You, messengers need to be sent
I'm ready to be one Jesus, help me make a dent
I know You cry for them Jesus, I can feel Your tears
bridge
Open the hearts of the people, break down the walls they put up
Draw them into Your kingdom, teach us how to love

He Bore It All

He Bore It All
by Frank Fowler
Verse 1
Two thousand years ago
My savior came
And now the world
Will never be the same
So many changes
Because of what He did
Dying on the cross
So that we might live

Chorus
And on the cross, He bore my pain
He bore my sins, He bore my shame
He gave His life
As redemption for the fall
With nails in His hands
He bore it all

Verse 2
Thirty-nine stripes
Tore into His flesh
Jesus was beaten
Nearly to death
Why did He do it
It was to set us free
With those stripes
He bore every disease

Bridge
And my rebellious nature
Was conquered on that cross
The consequences for my sin were paid
The blood of my savior
Was shed for the lost
For He desires that every man be saved

Scripture Memorization

Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
This is my memory verse for today. I'm trying to memorize Romans 12. Scripture memorization has a way of keeping your mind focused in the right direction. I've memorized whole chapters before and would recommend Romans 8 and James 4 to anyone who wanted to try it. If your looking more at individual verses it's best to find verses that deal with an area that you're struggling with in your own life. If you struggle with boldness memorize II Timothy 1:7 and then walk the walk. Whatever the verse is you need to apply it to your life. The Word of God is a powerful thing and can change your life in a dramatic way.
